If you are running Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, the official Microsoft support for that is ending October 13, 2015. Each day moves your critical systems closer to becoming obsolete and putting data at incredible risk. If this is the case, contact us immediately to see if your strategic planning timeline is going to make it before the cutoff date. The most current version of Dynamics GP is the 2015 edition, but your business could have valid reasons to make incremental upgrades (or if you aren’t sure, you can always contact us).

That said, there are some big changes you’ll want to know about ahead of time. If you are just starting the upgrade process, you’ll want to read this article first.

Say Goodbye to FRx and Hello to Management Reporter.

GP 2010 is the last version that supports FRx. To be crystal clear, FRx is totally unsupported with the change to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.

Do You Need to Use Management Reporter?

Management Reporter co-existed alongside FRx in Dynamics GP 2010. If you didn’t make the jump then, you’ll need to now, the the above mentioned, FRx is now unsupported. The last thing you’d want to do is flip to Management Reporter without proper training and that is something ERP implementation partners should be talking to you about as you near the upgrade date.

Will Dynamics GP 2010 Customizations and Integrations Still Work in The Upgraded Version?

There is a good chance all the work you’ve done to customize your system will work without a problem. There might be a few one-off modifications or updates that might need to happen.

Will Custom Solutions Need to be Completely Rewritten?

The worst-case-scenario of rewriting solutions seldom happens. A few changes to table structures usually does the trick.

Remember the Date: April 10, 2018

That is the date Microsoft has set for Dynamics GP 2013 to go unsupported. Dynamics GP 2015 has been released and there are further improvements and features on top of what GP 2013 accomplishes.
