Salesforce has three releases a year and the next one is the Summer ’23 release. With release weekends 5/19, 6/2, and 6/9, changes will be coming quickly. This is to highlight a view of the features we can expect to see.
General
- MFA Auto-Enablement Continues
- MFA is being pushed to more orgs. This is Phase 2. All orgs will be required to have MFA by Winter ’24.

- Align Fields Horizontally in Field Sections
- Salesforce continues to add improvement to the Dynamic Forms. Fields can now be aligned across columns. This will help not create gaps due to differences in field heights.

- Say Hello to Salutation Picklist Values in Lightning Experience
- Previously you had to switch to Classic to edit the Salutation Picklists on the Individual, Lead, Contact, or Person Account objects. With Summer ’23 you can now remain in Lightning and update those picklists.

- Clone Lightning Apps
- The Clone action was added to the App Manager and you can now create custom Lightning app based on an existing app.

- Use One File to Install Data Loader on macOS or Windows
- You can now use the same installation files to setup and install Data Loader on macOS and Windows. Previously required separate files to deploy to the different operating systems. Not sure if this will make it easier for Mac users.

- The CASESAFEID Function Has Changed
- Previously in Lightning when given a 15 character ID would convert whether it was valid or not. Now will return the invalid ID back.

- Enhance Your Visualizations with Images, Rich Text, and Dashboard Widgets:
- When editing Dashboards in Lightning can now add text and images in addition to the usual charts and reports. The limit for the number of charts and reports is still 20 but can we have a total of 25 widgets including 20 charts/tables, 2 images, and 25 rich text widgets.

Opportunities
- Split Revenue by Product Mix with Opportunity Product Splits (Generally Available)
- Pretty big startup, doesn’t recommend inactive users as opportunity owners
- Recommends to either delete their opportunities, transfer them, making them active or temporarily allow editing of inactive users while splits enablement process is in progress
- Opportunity Teams have to be enabled as well.
- Creates a Opportunity Split object and there is a component that can be added to the opportunity record page
- Pretty big startup, doesn’t recommend inactive users as opportunity owners

- TikTok Integration for Commerce Enhancements
- Can drive sales and get new customers with Tiktok shop integration.

- Payments Enhancements for Salesforce Commerce
- Payment method coverage includes credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Afterpay, EPS, iDeal, SEPA, and Bancontact.

Flow
- Log Emails Sent with the Send Email Action
- Emails can be logged to the Activity Timeline when using the Send Email action. It could be to the recipient record (Lead, Contact, Person Account) or non-recipient (Account or Opportunity) or both.
- Not that emails will go towards the General Email limit instead of the Daily Workflow Email Limit (5000 vs 1000 daily)

- Use Email Templates in the Send Email Action
- We can now reuse email content with Lightning or Classic email Templates in the Send Email Action. Previously text templates were the easiest things to use within flows or an Email alert. This is a great in between that we can now use within flow.

- Send Salesforce Data to an External Server Without Code via HTTP Callout (Beta)
- Can now GET and POST to an external servicer in Flow, previously only GET.

- The Add Element button is smaller and layout is more compact.

- New Process Creation Is No Longer Available
- As Salesforce moves away from Workflows and Process Builders you an no longer create new processes.

- Find Flow User Permissions More Easily
- Flow permissions have now been sectioned out in the App Permissions section of the page. They were previously scattered throughout System Permissions.
