1. Side-by-Side Reporting

This is an often overlooked option, but by simply adding a ‘Row’ in your ‘Row Definition’ that says “COLUMN” in the format code, you can get a report like this!  If you want three sections across, simply add another column row where you want the break to be.

2. Weekly Reports

Did you know you can actually create weekly reports out of Management Reporter? Most people don’t realize there is an option to create something like this:[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_imageframe image_id=”69467″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”liftup” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”0″ align=”center” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=””]https://www.sikich.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/nimbus-image-1471359046036-46-300×146.png[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_text]All you need to do is add a ‘Start Date’ and ‘End Date’ in your Column Definition. You can hard code the dates, for example 8/1/2016, or you can put the day of the period.  For example, if the period you are running this for is the eighth month and your Start Date is “1” and End Date is “7,” you will get the results for 8/1 through 8/7!

Note, in this example we also used the ‘Auto Text’ in the ‘Column Header’ to display the ‘Actual Start Date’ and ‘End Date.’[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_imageframe image_id=”69468″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”liftup” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”0″ align=”center” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=””]https://www.sikich.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/formfunction.png[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_text]

3. Monthly Averages

If you would like a 12 month trending report, MR can do that, but suppose you want to add a monthly average into the report that will dynamically calculate the average….it’s shockingly easy to do.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_imageframe image_id=”69469″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”liftup” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”0″ align=”center” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=””]https://www.sikich.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/nimbus-image-1471359046036-48-300×151.png[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_text]Looking at the example above, there is one column for each month of the year, a YTD and a Monthly Average column.  In the ‘Column Definition’, a ‘Calculated’ column can be added with a formula of “B:M/PERIODS.”  In other words, you can sum the values in columns B through M (months/periods) and divide it by the number of periods for which you ran the report for.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_imageframe image_id=”69470″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”liftup” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”0″ align=”center” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=””]https://www.sikich.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/nimbus-image-1471359046036-49-300×155.png[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_text]

Quick Bonus Tip…

If you use the conditional print option “P<=B” in each of ‘Periodic’ columns, only the periods that have passed will print.  For example, if you run the report for a Period of 6, you won’t see blank data columns for Periods 7 through 12, as they will automatically surpress.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_imageframe image_id=”69471″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”liftup” bordersize=”0px” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”0″ align=”center” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”down” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=””]https://www.sikich.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/nimbus-image-1471359046036-50-300×195.png[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_text]As you can see, there is quite a bit of flexibility available with Management Reporter.  If you have a report design you are struggling with, feel free to reach out to Sikich consultants and we’d be happy to assist in finding a solution for you!
