The Illinois CPA Society honors leaders within the CPA community every year. This year, the Society recognizes Anthony Cervini with a Distinguished Service Award for his work on the Governmental Report Review Committee.
As a part of the Governmental Report Review Committee, Anthony M. Cervini, CPA, CFE, is tasked with conducting annual reviews of audit opinions issues by public accountants and related to annual financial statements for Illinois units of local government, collecting information on common errors and distributing such information to the membership.
He currently serves as the GAAP Sub-chair and has been an instructor with the Illinois CPA Society’s courses in both Chicago and Springfield.
At Sikich, Anthony is responsible for providing technical services to the firm’s governmental clients in all areas of governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, budget development, internal controls, revenue and expenditure forecasting, and cash and debt management.
Anthony has participated in hundreds of audits of municipalities and other governmental entities since beginning his career with Sikich in 2005. He also has been responsible for serving as lead instructor for governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, cash management and internal control courses internally and for the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA), Wisconsin Government Finance Officers Association (WGFOA) and Illinois CPA Society.
