Sikich professional awarded $10,000 grant for Springfield, Illinois-based nonprofit

Julie Krehbiel, a financial advisor on Sikich’s wealth management team, received one of six grants awarded by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation in partnership with Advisor Group and Triad Advisors. The $10,000 grant will be donated to Springfield, Illinois-based nonprofit Wooden It Be Lovely, an organization that employs women in need to refurbish and sell wood furniture and offers other social services.

Krehbiel has supported Wooden It Be Lovely for five years, serving as a founding board member and finance committee member. The organization will use the funds to help cover program expenses, as other donations are being directed to a capital campaign to purchase a house to shelter homeless employees.

“I’m honored to be recognized with this award, and to be able to offer these much-needed funds to Wooden It Be Lovely,” said Krehbiel. “This organization does meaningful work for our community and makes a difference in the lives of its employees by offering education, skills and other support to help them achieve economic stability. I look forward to seeing how this grant allows the organization to grow and serve even more women in need.”

The Invest in Others Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting and empowering financial professionals who give back to their communities. Since its founding in 2006, Invest in Others has amplified these efforts by providing a platform for financial advisors and other financial professionals to increase awareness, visibility, and funding to their favorite nonprofits. Financial professionals may apply for a grant from Invest in Others on behalf of nonprofits to fund specific programs or projects and help meet critical needs.
