Project Accounting Fields Now Available for Requisition Entry

When the new workflow was announced for GP, many users were justifiably excited about Requisitions. Now we had a workflow system that came with GP rather than being a separate purchase. It was also much easier to configure and maintain than the old, Sharepoint-based workflow.

However, project accounting users were disappointed with Requisition Entry. The entry windows for GP 2013 and 2015 did not allow a Project or Cost Category to be entered.

If you were one of these users, GP 2016 will grant your wish. With the release of GP 2016, you now have the ability to enter Project and Cost Category information on Purchase Requisitions. This information can be entered for each line item on the requisition:

How to Create a Workflow Around Requisitions in Dynamics GP 2016:

In order to have this option available for users, you have to do the following.

Under Project > Setup > User > Requisition, set up the user to enter requisitions:
