CHICAGO — July 13, 2023 — Professional services company Sikich announces the 2023 James A. Sikich Visionary Scholarship recipients: Jack Glazer and Alexander Tosetti.

“Our founder, Jim Sikich, strongly believed in supporting the next generation of leaders in the accounting industry and we honor his legacy with this annual scholarship,” said Sikich CEO Chris Geier. “The two individuals receiving this year’s scholarship not only are proven leaders with a passion for their future careers in accounting, but they also share our Sikich value of servant leadership, as is demonstrated by the work they do in their local communities.”

In 2019, Sikich established the James A. Sikich Visionary Scholarship in partnership with the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) to honor the firm’s founder, Jim Sikich. As the cost of higher education rises, Sikich is devoted to providing financial assistance to promising accounting students of all backgrounds and to fostering the education and dreams of those who have demonstrated leadership and devotion to their field.

The 2023-2024 academic year scholarship recipients are individuals with a proven determination to pursue a career in accounting and demonstrated leadership qualities:

  • Jack Glazer, a senior at University of Illinoi at Urbana-Champaign, is double majoring in accounting and information systems. He recently discovered a passion for internal audit/enterprise risk. Jack holds several leadership positions in a professional business fraternity, a social fraternity and a consulting organization.

  • Alexander Tosetti, who is majoring in accounting and business administration with a minor in data analytics, is a senior at Augustana College. Alexander was inspired to pursue accounting when he realized that trusted tax professionals can truly impact the lives of their clients. A member of Augustana’s football team, he serves as a leader to his teammates while also working multiple part-time jobs and volunteering with the Volunteer Tax Assistance program (VITA), helping prepare tax returns free of charge for low-income households.

In addition to the James A. Sikich Visionary Scholarship, Sikich supports the advancement of the next generation of leaders in professional services through the company’s established internship program, Sikich Scholars, as well as supporting the Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program, which helps students and CPA candidates transition into the profession by enhancing their business skills and providing financial aid toward their CPA exam preparation and testing.
