Sikich elects two new tax partners

CHICAGO — Jan. 13, 2020 — Sikich recently promoted Drew Long and Louis Sands to partner. Both Long and Sands offer tax advisory services to businesses and individuals. Long works in Sikich’s Springfield, Illinois, office and Sands works in the company’s Naperville, Illinois office.

“Drew and Louis have proven themselves as leaders, and have helped drive transformation and growth at our company,” said Sikich CEO Chris Geier. “I am confident they will bring meaningful contributions and expertise to our partner group and continue to serve as valuable advisors to their clients and colleagues.”

Long, CPA, has more than 15 years of experience offering tax planning and consulting solutions to individuals and closely held businesses. He works extensively in the construction, manufacturing, agriculture and health care industries. Long is a member of many area associations including the Grain & Feed Association of Illinois, Central Illinois Builders of AGC, Southern Illinois Builders Association, Leadership Springfield, HSHS – St. John’s Hospital, and Sangamon Valley Estate Planning Council. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Augustana College.

Sands, CPA, has more than 20 years of experience offering personal and business tax planning for professional services, law firms, high-net-worth individuals and family offices. He has specialized knowledge of trusts, pass-through entities and private foundations. Sands is a member of the Edward Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and DuPage County Estate Planning Council. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago.
