Sikich Tax Director Jim Brandenburg, CPA and member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, recently shared his expertise in two Milwaukee Journal Sentinel articles examining Wisconsin’s new retirement income tax exemption and its broader implications for retirees and the state’s economy.
In the first article, Jim discusses how the exemption – allowing taxpayers 67 and older to exclude up to $24,000 in retirement income from state taxes – could make Wisconsin more competitive with traditional retirement destinations. In the second, he emphasizes that while taxes aren’t the only factor retirees consider, they remain an important part of the decision-making process.
Jim is a principal at Sikich and a member of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs. He regularly advises clients on tax strategy and financial planning, with a focus on helping individuals and businesses navigate complex regulatory environments.
