Introducing The Sikich HEADSTART Finance and Supply Chain Support Agent

At Sikich, we’re always looking for ways to empower users and streamline operations across the Microsoft ecosystem. Today, we’re excited to introduce a new Copilot extension built on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (Finance and Operations) Sidecar framework—designed specifically to assist users in troubleshooting error messages and accelerating support workflows: HEADSTART Support Agent.

It’s available today, for free, to all Sikich HEADSTART support clients.

What It Does

This Copilot extension acts as a smart assistant embedded within the D365 F&SCM experience. When users encounter an error message, the Copilot springs into action by:

Analyzing the error message and providing contextual suggestions for resolution, all captured from a screenshot of the error message.
Offering guided troubleshooting steps based on knowledge from Microsoft documentation, internal documentation (e.g. documentation on SharePoint) and Azure DevOps work item details.
If still necessary, creating a DevOps support ticket with all relevant detail filled—saving time and reducing friction between users and support teams.

The work item includes:

AI Generated title based on the error message
All error detail and suggestions provided by Copilot during the initial investigation
Screenshot of the error the user asked for help with
Environment detail, security context, system company & username

Why It Matters

Error messages in enterprise systems can be cryptic and disruptive. Our Copilot extension transforms these moments of frustration into opportunities for rapid resolution and learning. By integrating with Azure DevOps, it ensures that support tickets are comprehensive and actionable from the start—reducing back-and-forth and accelerating time to resolution.
