Former head of Sikich’s advisory services and investment banking practice to lead firm’s continued expansion

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Jan. 4, 2017 — Christopher Geier’s tenure as managing partner and CEO of professionals services firm Sikich LLP officially began on Jan. 1. He replaced former CEO Jim Sikich, who plans to retire at the end of 2017.
“It’s an exciting time of growth for Sikich, and I am ready to get to work as the firm’s new leader,” Geier said. “I have been involved in the firm’s leadership for several years and am very familiar with the depth of expertise and talent across our many practice areas. I am confident we are well-positioned to achieve our ambitious growth goals in the years ahead.”

The firm’s partners elected Geier to the role of managing partner and CEO last May. As head of the firm, Geier will oversee Sikich’s strategic direction and future growth. Prior to becoming CEO, Geier was partner-in-charge of the firm’s advisory services and investment banking practice and a member of the executive board. Geier has held C-level operating roles at both private and publicly traded companies and has more than 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions across multiple industries. He joined Sikich in 2008.

The leadership transition comes at a time of expansion for Sikich. In 2016, the firm acquired Akron, Ohio-based BCG & Co., a firm specializing in audit and assurance, tax, technology and wealth management services, and Glendale, California-based technology firm SCS.

“It’s a great responsibility and honor to follow in Jim Sikich’s footsteps,” Geier said. “Under his leadership, Sikich has become a top professional services firm. I look forward to building on his legacy and guiding the firm as we continue to develop innovative business solutions for our clients.”

Geier graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Washington State University and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
