Jay Walters is a skilled, independent site selection professional partnering with Sikich’s site selection & business incentives practice. In addition to consulting for Sikich, Jay is the co-founder and CEO of FairWinds Advisors, LLC. He has extensive experience managing hundreds of business expansion and relocation projects throughout the U.S., working with a diverse group of clients ranging from small, start-up business ventures to Fortune 100 companies. Jay approaches each business challenge with a propensity for creative problem-solving and measured risk-taking to drive high-level performance based results and strategic improvements.
Jay started his career as Deputy Director of the Indiana Department of Commerce and eventually became Director of Economic Development for the City of Indianapolis. He entered the private sector in 1997 as a site selector and, today, consults with growing companies in IT, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, life sciences and headquarter relocation throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
