Louis Sands, JD, CPA, is a partner of tax services with more than 20 years of experience serving as a trusted advisor. Louis excels in managing comprehensive personal and business tax planning needs for a variety of clients, such as professional services, law firms, high net worth individuals and family groups as well as family offices. His specialized knowledge of trusts, pass through entities and private foundations aids in preparing clients, their families and their businesses for the future.

Louis assists his clients using a collaborative, solution-driven approach to implement complex estate and gifting plans, establish private foundations and structure international tax ownership or transfer of foreign assets. In addition, Louis understands and clearly communicates the implications of a client’s major life event such as marriage, divorce or buying an investment property. He is skilled in gift/estate planning, income tax liability, cash flow and asset protection.

Louis is also an attorney in Good Standing in Illinois. He serves on various committees, such as the Illinois CPA Society’s Individual Taxation Committee and the Chicago Estate Planning Committee. Louis is a frequent speaker on estate planning, gift tax and individual tax issues, as well as a credible resource on television and radio interviews regarding these topics.

Louis is married with three kids—when he’s not driving his family around and playing chauffeur, he also serves on the Board of Directors with the Edward Hospital Foundation and spends time volunteering in the community.
