John Mazurek, CPA, is a partner with more than 25 years of audit and advisory experience focused in the higher education sector. John manages and leads audits and other special projects related to a wide range of services amid regular changes in Federal, State and accrediting rules and standards.
John advises clients involved in business acquisitions in the active M&A market on ever-changing regulations, working with clients during program reviews conducted by the U.S. Department of Education and the Office of Inspector General. He also integrates, implements, and tests internal audit systems and practices to ensure strong corporate internal controls. John is a leader and innovator, regularly providing training to staff and clients.
John is actively involved with the CECU and CSPEN organizations and its support of the proprietary education industry. He also maintains active relationships with the accrediting agencies, which help him stay abreast of the constant challenges his clients face.
John participates in various community organizations supporting humanitarian needs as well as gender advocacy. He also volunteers with the Darien Lions Club, an organization focused on the prevention and reversal of blindness, hearing and speech action.
