Microsoft combined what they do best – productivity and intelligence – to build a highly advanced and stronger enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that will allow businesses to make smarter decisions.
The new Microsoft Dynamics AX (Dynamics AX) was unveiled during a global online launch on March 8, 2016 and was developed fully on Azure, Microsoft’s cloud-based platform. As a cloud first application, the new Dynamics AX will allow users, across a variety of industries, to drive business performance and obtain deeper operation insights to the data from anywhere at anytime.
As a cloud-first and mobile-first platform, Dynamics AX gives businesses of all sizes the ability to scale at their own pace. Businesses can customize the size of cloud they need and when they need it with a pay as you go model, ultimately providing greater flexibility to create a more collaborative and agile business.
What Should Users Expect?
Cloud-Based Advantages
With the move to Azure, implementation of Dynamics AX will be faster and simplified as it is deployed by Microsoft Lifecycle Services (LCS) where there is no longer a need for an extensive infrastructure. Additionally, Dynamics AX will connect users globally across multiple devices.
While the new Dynamics AX will be released on the Azure public cloud first, a private cloud version will be released later this year.
Intelligent User Experience
All users will experience the highly visual and intuitive context sensitive redesign of the new Dynamics AX. With a new look and feel that is more in line with other Microsoft products, Dynamics AX enables users to be more productive with an easy-to-use navigation, customizable workspaces and task specific guides.
In addition to increased productivity, Dynamics AX encourages collaboration by providing seamless integration with other Microsoft applications such as Power BI, Dynamics CRM, Office 365 and more.
Mobile First Approach
Dynamics AX users and businesses want access to operations and data at anytime, from anywhere. So long to the days where users are tied to their office or cubical, now users will have access to real-time data and insights into their business operations so they can make smarter decisions directly from their smartphone or tablet.
The intelligent easy-to-use mobile platform, designed to be used without a mouse or keyboard, is available across a wide variety of mobile devices, i.e. Android or iOS.
