Beginning July 1, 2019, employers in Chicago and Cook County (outside of Chicago)  will undergo another annual raise in the minimum wage.

Chicago Minimum Wage: $13.00 per hour, or $6.40 for tipped employees.

Under the City of Chicago Minimum Wage Ordinance, any employee, who, in any particular two-week period, performs at least two hours of work for an Employer while physically present within the geographic boundaries of the City is covered and should have their rates adjusted accordingly.

Cook County Minimum Wage: $12.00 per hour, or $5.25 for tipped employees.

Per the Cook County Minimum Wage Ordinance, employers with four or more employees who have worked at least 2 hours in any two-week period of time are covered under the Ordinance and their rates should be adjusted accordingly.
