Sikich Gardner Adds Two Partners
AURORA, IL March 14, 2003:

James A. Sikich, CPA, Managing Partner of Sikich Gardner & Co, LLP announces Brian D. LeFevre, CPA, and Karen S. Sanchez, CPA, have been promoted to Partners in the firm.

LeFevre is responsible for providing technical services to Sikich Gardner & Co, LLP’s governmental clients. He has participated in over 400 audits of municipalities and other governmental units since he began his career with Sikich Gardner in 1993. Currently, he is the Chair of the GAAP Basis Subcommittee of the Government Report Review Task Force of the Illinois CPA Society. LeFevre resides in Batavia, IL.

Sanchez, a Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), is responsible for employee benefit plan audits, administrative and consulting services with more than 10 years experience serving clients in a variety of industries, including services to governmental entities. In addition, she is the Director of Employee Benefits Services, responsible for the broad range of services provided by Sikich HR Solutions, a division of Sikich Gardner & Co, LLP. Sanchez is frequently a guest lecturer and presenter at various professional organizations and regularly contributes to professional and industry publications. Sanchez resides in Batavia, IL.

Background

Brian D. LeFevre, CPA is responsible for providing technical services to Sikich Gardner & Co, LLP’s governmental clients in all areas of governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, budget development, revenue and expenditure forecasting and cash and debt management. Brian has participated in over 400 audits of municipalities and other governmental units since he began his career with Sikich Gardner in 1993. He has also been responsible in developing and serving as lead instructor for governmental accounting, auditing and financial reporting training courses internally for the firm and for the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA). LeFevre is the Chair of the GAAP Basis Subcommittee of the Government Report Review Task Force of the Illinois CPA Society. LeFevre resides in Batavia, IL.

Karen S. Sanchez, CPA, QPA, is Partner in charge of the Human Resources and Benefits consulting group of Sikich Gardner & Co, LLP. She leads a team of professionals providing a full range of services relating to all aspects of employment from the time an employee is hired, during employment, and through termination. She has provided retirement plan compliance and related benefits services to closely held companies and governmental entities for over 10 years. During this time she has also provided direct supervision to employee benefit plan audits for qualified plans. Karen has also provided tax services for a variety of industries and individuals. Karen is also a frequent speaker on benefit related topics and has been published in various trade publications. Sanchez resides in Batavia, IL.
