Information Flow & Posting within Microsoft Dynamics GP

This one day class explores the flow of information through Microsoft Dynamics GP for those users who create customized reports from their Dynamics GP data or who need to gain a basic understanding of Dynamics GP processing for providing troubleshooting support.

Course objectives:

• Review the posting processes and database concepts.

• Understand the module interactions in Dynamics GP and
  how this impacts the flow of sub-module activity to the
  General Ledger (GL).

• Identify the “Apply To” Links in the Dynamics GP database.

• Review Sales Order Processing (SOP) Data Flow.

• Discussion on SOP types and tables impacted upon creation and posting.

• Identify common SOP tables used for reporting.

• Review Receivables Management Processing Data Flow: including aging, scheduled payments
  and cash receipts.

• Discussion on Receivables Management tables impacted upon creation and posting.

• Review Purchase Order Processing (POP) Information Flow and Posting concepts.

• Discuss different PO statuses and receipts and Identify where and how data is stored in tables.

• Walk through the Payables (AP) Processing Flow.

• Understand what happens during AP invoicing, batch selection, check printing & posting, manual
  payment entry, and applying payments.

• Identify the key tables during AP processing to understand how data flows for reporting and error
  troubleshooting.

• Discuss Inventory Data Flow.

• Understanding the process flow and tables used for stock counts, transfers, cost adjustments
  and inventory allocation.

• Review the GL information flow and how transactions post to GL.

• Hands on exercises using SQL to query the tables and to gain an understanding of the back end
  data storage.  

 

This class is an introductory level class and is ideal for all business and technical users with little or no exposure to SQL and/or Dynamics GP. All participants will receive the Accolade manual “Information Flow & Posting” which includes charts and a comprehensive guide to the key tables and fields involved in the flow of information throughout Microsoft Dynamics GP. By taking this class, you will gain a better understanding of how processing transactions in Dynamics GP flow through the database. This will help you create and/or modify reports using tools like SQL Reporting Services, Smartlist Builder and Excel Report Builder for example. The course will also provide you basic troubleshooting knowledge in Dynamics GP when the information posting is interrupted.

Clients have an option of buying a prepaid block of five training class days at the discounted price of $2,250. Multiple employees from a single company qualify.

Example - Two employees from a single company sign up for the Enhancing Microsoft Dynamics GP with the Builders class (2 employees x 1 day of training per employee = 2 days).  This leaves three days of training class credit left.

Receive a 10% discount for registering two or more employees for the same class.  This discount cannot be combined with the prepaid block of five training class days.

On-site training classes are available upon request at $1,280 per day for unlimited employees.

*A 100% deposit is required to reserve a seat. Cancellations received within 72 hours of the class start time will receive a full refund. Late cancellations and no-shows will forfeit their deposit.
