Analyst -- Chicago


The Analyst's role is to support the firm's Associates, Vice Presidents, and other deal team members in the full range of M&A advisory, restructuring and financing transactions for our corporate and private equity clients.

Duties and Responsibilities -- with training and guidance from Associates & VPs

·         Assist in building and refining financial models

·         Provide initial research on prospects

·         Conduct industry and company research and analysis

·         Collect, present, and analyze transaction comparables

·         Assist in the preparation of business development pitch books, client memoranda, and other presentations

·         Identify acquisition, divestiture, and capital-raising targets for corporate and private equity clients

·         Support business development activities – including pre-conference preparation and post-conference follow-up, such as organizing marketing materials, preparing meetings schedules, and adding contacts to CRM, etc.

·         Preform certain administrative functions, such as taking notes at meetings, organizing conference calls, preparing for in-office meetings, and printing and assembling pitch books

·         Perform other tasks as requested by senior team members

·         Demonstrate commitment to providing high quality and high value materials and insights

Requirements

·         BA/BS degree in Finance, Business Administration, MIS or related degree

·         Prior work history within the investment banking or strategic consulting industries

·         MBA preferred, although not required

·         Entrepreneurial attitude and strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills

·         Ability to pay attention to detail and manage multiple ongoing client engagements

·         Strong qualitative and quantitative valuation/analytical skills

·         Excellent problem solving and analytic ability
