Sikich is committed to investing in our community through professional and civic involvement. We have a number of active members, both management and staff, who serve on the boards of directors and as committee chairs for social service and civic organizations.
American Cancer Society
Sikich supports the American Cancer Society in its efforts to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures and fighting back. This year, to help promote the importance of regular physical activity, the Decatur office took part in the Macon County Wellness Challenge, which was a 10-week program that utilizes the Society's Active for Life online platform to improve the health and wellness of participants.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Sikich supports Big Brothers Big Sisters as it not only helps kids but also communities. By helping kids realize their potential and build promising futures, we strengthen our communities. Sikich participates in the Bowl for Kid's Sake event each year, where the Springfield office raises money that supports the organization and mentoring of youth.
The Epilepsy Foundation of North/Central Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska ensures people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences. The organization also aims to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through services, education, advocacy and research. The Rockford office participated in this year's 30th Annual Mud Volleyball tournament.
Sikich is dedicated to improving our communities and producing healthy, well-educated and financially stable individuals, families and businesses, which is why Sikich supports the United Way through a variety of activities and contributions.
Rebuilding Together Aurora
For the past four years, Sikich has joined forces with Rebuilding Together Aurora, participating in their National Rebuilding Day. Sikich organizes a volunteer team to provide free home renovations and repairs to one home in Aurora, Illinois—making a difference for the homeowner and a community we serve!
Children’s Museum of Illinois
Sikich believes in the education of youth and supports the Children's Museum of Illinois, one of the top 25 children's museums in the country. This year, Sikich helped with the Greater Duck Derby, where kids got to race hundreds of rubber ducks race down an obstacle course. Money raised from the event goes toward educational programs at the museum.
Rock Valley College Foundation
Sikich supports local educational institutions, such as Rock Valley College (RVC), in Rockford, Illinois. Every year, the Rockford office participates in the Starry Night Fundraiser. The theme for the 10th annual event in March 2012 was "Musicians Through the Decades." The Sikich Rockford rockers took on the 80s for their table theme. Proceeds of Starry Night support a variety of college needs for which there is no alternative funding, including grants to RVC faculty and staff for and the administration of scholarships.
